DFPF Ltd 2005 Awards Ceremony
People 1st and Dairy Farm Training Services had their annual Awards Ceremony on the 6th December 2005 in the Kilwee Community Centre to celebrate learners and members of staff hard work, dedication and commitment to training. Sean Crummey Director of ‘Folks on the Hill’ presented the awards to several individuals who had successfully completed training qualifications through out the year.
Special awards sponsored by Bank of Ireland Ltd were given for outstanding achievements in the following categories:


Jobskills Trainees
Modern Apprenticeship Trainees
New Deal Trainees
Employers
Learndirect Trainees
Group Learning awards
Within the past twelve years, Dairy Farm Training Services have had over 17,000 local individuals pass through their doors, ranging from 16 year olds participating on the Jobskills programme, women returning to education via the Open Learning Centre to individuals who wanted to enhance their employability via the Jobclub services.

Dairy Farm Training have also recently been awarded the Progress to Work contract for the area, a initiative which aims to support individuals to update and obtain new skills and return to the employment and training market.

Mr Ronan Heenan, Manager of the Jobskills & New Deal departments commented

“the achievements and success of local people from the surrounding area is evident today from the number of individuals receiving awards, and is an example of what can be achieved when people make the first step in returning to education and training. The aim is to overcome previous negative experiences of learning and to learn in an environment where you can see your ambition become reality”

A total of 692 people obtained recognised qualifications throughout the year via National Vocational Qualifications in a number of disciplines, European Computer Driving Licence, Other IT courses, short course certificates such as Food Hygiene, First Aid, Personal Effectiveness, Health & Safety, as well as English Speaking for Other Languages and Essential Skills in Numeracy and Literacy. There were also over 2000 individuals participated in e-learning programmes ranging from ICT, Business & Management and Essential skills.
